The Ethics Commission will meet this Tuesday, August 2 to deal with the complaint against the Congressman Freddy Diaz, investigated for the alleged crime of rape against a congressional worker, a fact that was denounced on Wednesday, July 27. The blended meeting of the working group will be held from 10:30 am in the Raúl Porras Barrenechea Room.
Last Sunday, the Public ministry requested the impediment to leave the country against Diaz. The prosecutor Zoraida Ávalos, of the Second Supreme Criminal Prosecutor’s Office, ordered the statements of the congressman and the victim to be collected; however, the accused did not attend the first procedure that was carried out on July 30.
This process is developed by the preliminary investigation within 90 days ordered by the entity against the legislator.

Minimize investigation
This Monday, August 1, the parliamentarian went to the prosecutor’s office in order to hand over his diplomatic passport. As he left, he said “he had no knowledge of the complaint” despite the pronouncement of several colleagues and the president of Congress, Lady Camones, who condemned the accusation.
“I was not present these days. Today I delivered my passport (….). I have been notified on Saturday afternoon. I was not aware of the complaint. No way (I’ve come), that’s why I’m here, “she said.
