One death was the result of a shooting confrontation this afternoon in the border area of Carrizal, Elías Piña, between prominent Dominican merchants in the area.
As reported, the event occurred when new peddlers tried to set up shop to sell in the stalls, but the old vendors who had been in the place longer tried to prevent it, causing the shootout in Dominican territory.
The Police and members of the security services of the Armed Forces immediately ordered an investigation to determine the reasons for the incident.
