Regional and municipal elections: JNE develops a training program for young candidates

The National Elections Jury (JNE) announced that on August 9, 11, 16 and 18 it will carry out a political training program for young candidates who participate in the October this year.

The program, as detailed by the electoral body on social networks, is given in alliance with Ashanti Peru and the National Endowment for Democracy. Entries can be submitted until Tuesday, August 2.

The call is for young people between 18 and 29 years of age at the national level who will participate politically in the 2022 Regional and Municipal Elections as candidates for councilor, mayor, regional councilor, lieutenant governor or lieutenant governor, and governor. or regional governor.

“The program aims to provide theoretical knowledge and methodological tools so that young candidates can carry out a successful political campaign and an adequate job in popularly elected positions.in order to promote spaces for dialogue, consultation mechanisms and youth participation in the decision-making processes of sub-national governments, which contribute to the reduction of socioeconomic inequalities of Peruvian youth”, reads in the call of the JNE.
