SANTO DOMINGO – The Minister of Public healthDr. Daniel Rivera, lamented the incident that occurred this Wednesday morning during the march organized by the Dominican Medical College (CMD)which had the objective of reaching the facilities of the National Palace.
Rivera said that several high-level officials were with him at the government house, including the Minister of the Presidency José Ignacio Paliza, Dr. Mario Lama, director of the National Health Service, in order to receive to the doctors and listen to their proposals.
The head of health, recalled that, “the authorities are permanently open to dialogue, as has been proven on other occasions, where consensus has allowed the solution of the demands of the doctors.”
After the impasse, Dr. Daniel Rivera reiterated the call to the directors of the medical union to continue the talks, emphasizing that this government has given clear signals that in order to meet with the president and the authorities of the sector, marches are not necessary. and walks, since they have always been received cordially by the president, his ministers and directors.
He added that the claims to improve the country’s health system are fair, but they must be channeled through corresponding channels, which will always be possible in the Government of President Luis Abinader.
