The Ministry of Public Health reported this Saturday another 874 new cases of contagion of covid in the Dominican Republic to set the number of active cases at 2,379. The results derived from the application of 3,910 tests to detect the virus.
For this bulletin, number 856, the General Directorate of Epidemiology (DIGEPI) of the MSP, set the daily positivity at 2.35% and that accumulated in the last four weeks fell by 13.20%..

However, for this bulletin no new deaths were reported, so the number of deaths from COVID remains at 4,383 people, maintaining a fatality rate of 0.70%.
The demarcations where the greatest number of infections are registered are: National District, with 325 cases; Santo Domingo (190) and Santiago, with 169 positive results.
It is recalled that this Saturday the World Health Organization (WHO) established a global alert level for monkeypox that has already arrived in the Dominican Republic with an imported case, while another seven people are kept under observation on suspicion of contagion.
