This Saturday, through the social networks of the Public Ministry, the recent meeting between the Federal Prosecutor and Counselor of the Department of Justice of the Embassy of the United States in Paraguay, Brian Skaret, with the Attorney General of the State, Brian Skaret, was announced. The meeting was held with the intention of preparing and coordinating details of the next visit to the country by representatives of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). acronym in English), which make up arms of the United States Department of Justice.
COOPERATION
The Prosecutor’s Office indicated that the coordination of the visit of representatives of the FBI and DEA to the Public Ministry, occurs “in the framework of a cooperation between the government of the United States and the Attorney General’s Office on open cases of corruption, fight against drug trafficking and financing of terrorism”.
It should be remembered that after the statements made on Friday by the US ambassador to Paraguay, Marc Ostfield, the Public Ministry itself issued a statement clarifying that the pertinent investigations corresponding to the aforementioned cases were being carried out, and that the Government’s statement of the United States represents “a support for the work of the institutions of Paraguay and especially, of the Public Ministry”.
