A strong defense made the head of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), Roberto Sanchez Palomino, to the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo Terronesindicating that, the greater the number of research for alleged acts of corruption, the legal situation of the president is more solid, since there is not a single piece of evidence linking him to illicit acts. He even assured that there are coup sectors that affect governability.
The minister gave these statements during a working visit to the city of Chiclayo (Lambayeque) to encourage the first gastronomic meeting called “Travel with flavor”. In this context, Sánchez Palomino assured the press that there is not a single piece of evidence that incriminates the president with corruption.

When asked if the five complaints filed by the Public Ministry weaken Pedro Castillo’s legal situation, he replied as follows: “I believe that it is the opposite, that the situation of the president (Pedro Castillo) is more solid. To date there is not a single fact, test or evidence that relates him to illegal acts in the exercise of their public functions.
“I think there are four to 10 complaints, but it strengthens the position of the president who is concurring (Fiscalía de la Nación). They are clarifying with precision. The justice system has its prerogatives, and due process must be investigated with irrefutable evidence.”

He asked for respect from Congress
The also president of the National Executive Council (CEN) of Together for Peru (JP) assured that, during the year of President Pedro Castillo’s government, there have been disagreements, opposition and coup from some sectors. In this sense, he asked the legislators to respect the Executive Power.
He even asserted that, in the government administration of the president, he promoted two vacancy initiatives that they did not achieve their mission, as well as other accusations.
However, he specified that, in the midst of the disagreements, the Government executes a work agenda. “We do not lower our guard, we continue to promote stability and concord in the midst of the health emergency and the international crisis,” Sánchez emphasized.
He also assured that the Executive takes measures with serenity and in respect of the powers of the State, since it rejects unilateralism.

“Travel with flavor”
At another point in the interview, Roberto Sánchez highlighted the importance of the “Travels with Flavor” plan, which will take place in the different regions of the country, between July 27 and 30, in order to value gastronomy.
“It is expected to mobilize a million tourists and have an investment of 100 million dollars,” he stressed.
