The first vice president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) accused sectors of opposition extremism of promoting a campaign aimed at obtaining money using Venezuelan migrants who cross the Darien.
During his program Con el Mazo Dando, Cabello accused Alberto Federico Ravell of being one of the architects of this campaign, which he stressed only seeks to obtain financing “to steal it as they have already done with the so-called humanitarian aid.”
“They use them only as a number as a statistic, they are not interested in the name, the family but the number, the statistic, why? Because the numbers are what allow them (opposition extremism) to collect money, not the name of Diosdado Cabello as a migrant with his problems, no, because they charge for each number and you become a number, “he assured. .
He recalled how in previous years the issue of Venezuelan migrants was highly reviewed by the media and journalists linked to opposition extremism, pointing out that everything was a fraud against Venezuelans.
“They put on their shows, now if you are young and read all the attacks that have been made against Venezuelans outside our country and, you fell into Ravell’s trap and all these people who staged a great media campaign so that you outside, are you going to invent again?” he questioned.
“I am telling you that it is a number issue because for each one of those they say they are going to try to charge it and they need an advertising campaign that Ravell mounts and Leopoldo Castillo mounts and Carla Angola mounts and with that they are going to charge because He said this, this and this, and that is how they charge and continue to steal from Venezuela,” he insisted.
Responsibility of Colombia and Panama
Cabello denounced that, within the campaign around this passage of migrants, attempts are being made to involve the Government of Venezuela.
“Where is that? That must be shown to people on a map, that is the border between Colombia and Panama, that is very far from Venezuela, in any case, who should guard that there? The Government of Venezuela? Can not. That must be guarded on the Colombian side by the Colombian Government and on the Panamanian side, by the Government of Panama. That area is their problem, they want to throw it at Venezuela”, he emphasized.
He did not rule out the possibility that another of the objectives for highlighting the dangers of this border crossing is associated with what he claims is the interest of the outgoing president of Colombia, Iván Duque, in terms of obtaining financing to build a highway in this area to be used by Colombian drug traffickers.
“Don’t be surprised that based on that, Duque is looking for money to build a road there, for what? To get the Colombian drug, the business, because it makes it hard for them here in Venezuela, because there is no hope for them here, ”he said.
He urged Venezuelans, especially the youth, not to fall for these campaigns and invited them to stay in Venezuela and work on the recovery of the country and invited those who are abroad to return and join those who continue to build the country that we all deserve.
