Cases of COVID-19 are close to a hundred in Cuba

Cuba identified 95 infections of the SARS-CoV-2 virus this Wednesday, according to the part that on the epidemiological situation caused by this pandemic issued today by the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP).

By age ranges, infections predominate in those under 20 years of age, with 53 cases on the day. They are followed by 17 in the range between 20 and 39 years old, 12 in the range between 40 and 59 years old and 13 who were over 60.

Havana (18), Matanzas (15) and Holguín (10) exceeded one hundred patients while only the Isla de la Juventud Special Municipality was free of cases this day, according to the MINSAP.

2832 samples were processed. Of the positive ones, 76 correspond to contacts of confirmed cases and in five the virus had been imported. Again in 14 individuals the cause of the infection was not specified.

Clinical discharges totaled 77 while 598 people remained admitted, of which 337 were confirmed active cases. Bedridden in intensive care were four patients this time.

The fatalities of COVID-19 continue to add up to 8,529 since no deaths were reported this day either. The lethality is 0.77%.
