Rains. Low temperatures. And a rise in respiratory diseases. These are the key reasons why, from the Municipality of La Florida, through the Health Directorate of the Municipal Corporation, three tents were set up to serve people during the winter at key points in the community. Places where, in addition, antigen tests are taken to more quickly detect cases of covid-19.
Currently, people are not only affected by the coronavirus, but also by influenza and syncytial virus. Therefore, from the Health Directorate of the Municipal Corporation of Florida (Comudef), they point out that the “With you in winter” program bases its actions on symptoms such as cough, nasal congestion, whistling and chest pressure, in addition to secretions or phlegm.
“After the rain comes a substantial drop in temperature and, with it, respiratory problems. For this reason, the Municipality is deployed in three different points of the commune, carrying out respiratory care typical of the cold”, explained the mayor of La Florida, Rodolfo Carter.
Children from six months
From the Health Directorate of the Comudef they also reported that this territorial initiative is extended to any other symptom that significantly affects the general state of health of people. Likewise, it provides medical and kinesiological care for children from six months to 5 years. Also, for older adults from 65.
With all this, Mayor Carter also said that “the Home Doctor service is available with specialists 24 hours a day at the disposal of the community.” It should be noted that this primary care service can be requested at the emergency number 1416.
The marked territorial work has been entrusted by the general secretary of the Comudef, Janett Fernández, who is deployed daily in various parts of the commune to listen to the needs of the people and, in this way, design and promote health programs that directly benefit the people.
Places and times
The points where the campaign tents are deployed are the following: Ignacio Carrera Pinto field, in El Ulmo with Froilán Lagos; Los Quillayes, on the field in front of Cesfam and the interior of Liceo Nuevo Amanecer, at Volcán Calbuco 5850.
On the other hand, the hours of the tents are from Monday to Friday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Meanwhile, Saturday, Sunday and holidays, from 09:00 to 17:00.
