The La Teja refinery continues to be paralyzed after the failure detected last Thursday in the catalytic cracking unit.
This Monday the president of Ancap, Alejandro Stipanicic, told The Observer that the problem originated from “Fall of refractory material in the actuator of the valve that regulates the air flow”. And he added that, “hopefully, on Sunday the unit returns to production”
The company has indicated that the unscheduled shutdown of the refinery due to the stoppage of Fancap, caused a “significant temperature change” in the operation of the catalytic cracking process.
Loss of profit for each day production is stopped at La Teja will be between US $ 300,000 and US $ 500,000.
On the other hand, the Minister of Industry, Omar Paganini, said this Monday at a press conference that there are fuel import orders that are already in process, as a contingency.
“Fuel will be received in these weeks and in some way that will make up for the lack of production that we had these days. Let’s hope that the refinery can recover soon and with that reach ”, he affirmed.
