6 years after the Lighting Tax, they request reports on the use of the money collected.

Six years after the creation of the Tax on Public Lighting in the department of Colonia, the Councilors of Colonia Call (Broad Front) submitted a Request for Reports to learn more about their current situation.

It emerges from the last rendering of accounts of the year 2021 that the collection for said tax amounted to $186,907,743.62 and the final expense of the Administration for “Public lighting and facilities” during the same year was only $27,717,363.00.

What is done with the 150 million pesos that are “left over”? What are they spent on? Why isn’t more money invested in lighting? Why aren’t the tax amounts reduced?

There is no doubt that we colonians have the right to ask ourselves these questions, points out the argument made by the councilors
