The National Police, in collaboration with the Dominican Army, began joint operations yesterday Friday to combat the delinquency in the province Santiago and surrounding areas.
This was announced by General Juan Bautista Jiménez Reynoso, police commander of the Cibao Central regional directorate of the National Police.
The patrols began yesterday Friday and aim to minimize crime in various neighborhoods of Santiago.
The areas where efforts will be focused include Cienfuegos, Bella Vista, Pekin, Hato Mayor, Los Salados, Villa González, Barrio Libertad, Los Ciruelitos, La Yagüita de Pastor, among others.
“We will be patrolling all the vulnerable neighborhoods of Santiago of the Knights to achieve a citizen security “effective,” said General Jiménez Reynoso.
Three shifts are available for these operations, covering all sectors of the city. The deployment includes seven trucks and 40 vans, with additional personnel who have been recently trained and graduated.
“Since yesterday we have been working by order of the superiors with preventive operations in the city of Santiago and we will continue every day, 24 hours a day, to bring a citizen security effective,” the general added.
These operational efforts seek to guarantee the tranquility and security of the citizens of Santiago and its surroundings, reinforcing the police and military presence in areas with the highest incidence of crime.
