Mirabal Sisters.- Esthefany Vásquez Peña (la Chory), Raimy Joselito Rivas, Luis Enmanuel Martín Ulerio and Jesús Enmanuel Sánchez were sent to preventive detention for endangering the life of a two-month-old baby.
The measure was issued by Judge Yudelka de León, of the Investigation Court of the Hermanas Mirabal Judicial District, accused of being involved in a shooting where a couple was also injured.
In the investigation carried out by the Salcedo Prosecutor’s Office, the group is linked to the shooting perpetrated against the husband and wife Datiel Alberto Rodríguez Castro and Yoseliannet Liriano Méndez, who at that time was holding their two-month-old son.
In the request for coercive measures, the Public Ministry highlights that on October 3 of this year, the four involved appeared at the residence of the victims, with firearms in their hands and began to shoot at the house simultaneously.

The Prosecutor’s Office explains that the defendant Jesús Enmanuel Sánchez fired several shots at Rodríguez Castro, who received injuries to his left leg.
Instead, Yoseliannet Liriano Méndez received wounds to the upper chest on the left side with an entry hole, as well as an abrasion to the left nasal septum.
Likewise, lacerations were evident, with a reserved prognosis due to the projectile lodging in the left hemithorax, according to the certificate issued by a forensic doctor from the Hermanas Mirabal province.
After shooting at the couple, the defendant Esthefany Vásquez Peña entered the residence and seeing them wounded, asked the other attackers to leave the place, convinced that they had already been killed.
Represented by the prosecutor Pablo Osiris Molina Santos, the criminal prosecution body attributes to those linked in the case the violation of articles 59, 60, 265, 266, 309 and 310 of the Penal Code and articles 66 and 67 of the Law 631-16, for the Control and Regulation of Weapons, Ammunition and Related Materials.
