A total of 36 criminals have been captured as a result of the actions taken by the State in the fight against criminal gangs, the sector vice president for Security and Peace, Remigio Ceballos Ichaso, reported this Friday.
In this sense, he confirmed that as a result of these operations he was killed in Irapa, Sucre state. Carlos Enrique Gomez Rodriguez, aka The Rabbitwanted for crimes of terrorism, extortion, kidnapping and homicide.
Regarding these criminal gangs, Ceballos denounced that they are promoted by sending arms from abroad to generate anxiety, commit extortion, homicide, kidnapping, drug trafficking and other crimes. He also pointed out that these criminal groups carry out actions to try to destabilize the peace and tranquility of Venezuela.
In this regard, he pointed out that by precise instructions from President Nicolás Maduro, efforts have been redoubled in direct combat against all these criminal gangs, and especially against the members of these dismantled criminal gangs.
He recalled that for a period of several months operations have been maintained in the national territory with the participation of all citizen security bodies and the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, FANB.
Specifically, it pointed out that the Cacique Maracay and Jabalí operations have yielded important results that led to the capture of 36 criminals, the seizure of nine recovered vehicles, 41 portable radios, 17 mobile phones, 14 motorcycles, as well as firearms, chargers and war material, including explosives and ammunition.
Permanent fight against criminal gangs
Ceballos said that these operations against criminal gangs are a permanent task of citizen security agencies. He also pointed out that they continue to advance in the strengthening of the Great Mission Quadrants of Peace.
He recognized the contribution of bodies such as SEBIN, CONAS, in these operations as well as in the permanent fight against all kinds of crimes.
“We will not allow the presence in our territory of armed criminal terrorist groups,” he said. In this regard, he pointed out that they maintain permanent international cooperation.
Likewise, the Minister of Interior Relations, Justice and Peace asserted that the Venezuelan people recognize the permanent effort of the citizen security and intelligence organs of the State in the search for peace.
