21 years after the coup, the people of Sucre are still restored

With sentiment and patriotic fervor, the militants of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) together with the revolutionary people of Sucre state, gathered in the vicinity of the Bolívar square in Cumaná, to commemorate the 21st anniversary of the coup d’état perpetrated against the president of the Republic of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez.

Between songs and slogans of resistance, the leadership recalled the tenacity of the heroic and inflamed people who fearlessly took to the streets to demand the release of Commander Hugo Chávez.

“They won’t come back! and Every 11 has its 13!, were some of the slogans exclaimed by those present as a sign of the Bolivarian commitment.

“Today, we commemorate the 21st anniversary of that cowardly and fascist coup d’état that the oligarchy gave us in April 2002 and, overnight on that April 11th, you committed yourself to occupying this beautiful and historic square. to support the man who came to restore hope to a people devastated by capitalism”, said the state organizer of the red awning, Luis Sifontes.

21 years ago the oligarchy tried to snatch the dreams of an entire nation

The mayor of the Sucre municipality (Cumaná) also emphasized that the oligarchy tried 21 years ago to snuff out the dreams, hope and future of the Venezuelan people, by trying to overthrow Chávez from power. However, he affirmed that the national leadership was defeated by a people who turned to the streets to rescue participatory and protagonist democracy, in addition to defending the Bolivarian Revolution.

He argued that, after 21 years, they remain firm, loyal and seasoned, to continue consolidating the path towards socialist transformation.

“Here is a sovereign and free people that does not kneel before any empire. 21 years later, here is a people with the same strength, the same gallantry, enthusiasm, commitment and love to defend and consolidate a project that we started with Chávez and we will continue to carry out with our president Nicolás Maduro”, exalted Sifontes.

Revolutionary people will continue to exalt the will to fight

He stressed that in the face of the adversities that afflict the population, caused by the imperial aggressions imposed by foreign countries against the South American nation, the revolutionary people of Sucre will continue to exalt with the necessary force the will to fight to achieve the social and economic development of Venezuela.

“We will continue in this fight to consolidate the growth of our country, this is a fight that has left us great collective achievements, among them the literacy of those who lived in the dark of not knowing how to read or write, as well as, we managed to position Venezuela as the second country in the American Continent with the highest enrollment in the educational system and allowing to provide decent homes to the most needy families. All these achievements have been due to this transformative process that is the Bolivarian Revolution”, said Sifontes.

He emphasized that with rebellion and an unwavering spirit, the sovereign people have fought in different political and electoral battles, guaranteeing victory in each scenario and betting on the construction of socialism.
