20 years in prison for man who robbed at gunpoint

The Puerto Plata Prosecutor’s Office obtained a sentence of 20 years of prison against a man accused of committing several robberies in this demarcation.

The Collegiate Court, chaired by Judge Jakayra Veras, sentenced Luis Miguel Paredes Pimentel (Pono), who intercepted his victims on board a motor and stripped them of their personal belongings at gunpoint.

The man sentenced today must pay his sentence at the San Felipe Correction and Rehabilitation Center.

The Public Ministry attributed to the case the legal classification of violation of articles 265, 266, 379 and 382 of the Penal Code, which typify and punish the association of criminals and robbery with violence.

The representative of the accusing body Ana Mariela Hernández demonstrated with the evidence presented to the court the guilt of the accused.
