More than 150,000 mothers agreed to retirement one year after the implementation of the recognition of retirement contributions for care tasks, a policy that seeks to repair the unequal distribution of these tasks, creating conditions so that more women can access pension recognition.
Decree 475/2021 signed a year ago by President Alberto Fernández, It was the determining element for the National Social Security Administration (Anses) to begin to recognize contributions to women eligible to retire for the care of their sons and daughters.
In that framework, the head of the Anses, Fernanda Ravertahighlighted this Sunday that “The Recognition of Contributions for Care Tasks is a vindication of the work of Argentine mothers who for a long time dedicated themselves to caring for others and other and now it is their turn to be cared for by the national State that accompanies them in this new stage so that they can fulfill their dreams and pending projects”.

“The Recognition of Contributions for Care Tasks pursues the objective of repair a historical and structural inequality in the distribution of these tasks, acknowledging and valuing for the first time in our country the time that women allocate and allocate to the upbringing of their daughters and sons, thus generating the necessary conditions so that more and more women can access their retirement,” Anses said in a statement.
Through this policy, the pension agency recognizes one year of contribution for each daughter or son and 2 years of contributions for each adopted daughter or son and, additionally, one year for a disabled son or daughter and 2 years if they accessed the Universal Child and Son Allowance.
Also, contemplates the terms of maternity leave and leave of absence to women who have made use of these periods at the time of the birth of their daughters or sons.
The measure, meanwhile, can be complemented with the current moratoriums (Law No. 24,476 and Law No. 26,970).
By provinces, since its implementation there are already 61,003 new retirees in the province of Buenos Aires; 13,743 in Cordoba; 12,706 in Santa Fe; 7761 in Mendoza; 6750 in Tucuman; 6513 in CABA; 6326 in Chaco; 6,104 in Misiones and 5,344 in Entre Ríos.
In Corrientes they add 5315; 3811 in Santiago del Estero; 3647 in Salta; 3460 in San Juan; 2968 in Jujuy; 2623 in Rio Negro; 2543 in Formosa; 2063 in Neuquen; 1945 in Chubut; 1945 in St. Louis; 1660 in Catamarca; 1447 in La Pampa; 1091 in La Rioja; 753 in Santa Cruz; and 426 in Tierra del Fuego.
