The Ukrainian President, Volodimir Zelenskisaid Thursday that he has “information” that China provides Russia weapons, raising the tone of his criticism against Beijing.
“We received information that China supplies Russia,” Zelenski told journalists. “We believe that Chinese officials are involved in the production of some weapons in Russian territory,” added the president at a press conference.
Zelenski did not contribute details of his accusations and promised to give more details next week.
Ukraine said last week that captured two Chinese citizens fighting in the Russian army And Zelenski accused China of being involved in the conflict, accusations that Beijing crossed out of “unfounded.”
Afterwards, the Ukrainian President said that “hundreds” of Chinese citizens have been recruited by Russia to fight in Ukraine.
China is presented as a neutral part in the conflictbut it has a close political and economic alliance with Russia.
NATO members claim that Beijing is a “decisive facilitator” of the Russian invasion, which has never condemned.
