The congressman of the caucus of Democratic Peru Carlos Zeballos he referred to the Interpellations presented last Wednesday against the Minister of Health, Hernán Condori, and the head of the Justice portfolio, Ángel Yldefonso. Given this, Zeballos mentioned that although these measures are positive in exercising political control, portfolio managers should be given a period of time in order to better assess their performance in the charges.
“We are having the issue of questioning the ministers, which are good because political control is being exercised, but we should give them the necessary time to see what these ministers bring us with respect to effective work”, he said for Channel N.
He also recalled that there is already a date set for the vote of confidence and we would have to wait now to see what happens. Along the same lines, she explained that the truce between the Executive and the Legislative should have joint work as its central axis.
“The date for the vote of confidence has already been set, March 8. Let’s wait to see what happens in that vote. We hope that the Congress of the Republic makes a truce and that there is a topic of joint work, in consensus with the Executive Branch,” he added.
The parliamentarian also referred to the motions presented so that a special commission of the Congress is responsible for electing the new ombudsman to replace Walter Gutiérrezwho already has the mandate expired.
“We have made a clear statement. The term of the ombudsman is over. A commission has been requested so that a new person who is plural can be electedlet it be a consultation”, he concluded.
