The Governor of Santiago del Estero, Gerardo Zamoraconsidered today that Argentine society “must become aware” of what happened during the last civic-military dictatorship so that “those events never happen again”, when leading a commemorative act for the Day of Remembrance, for Truth and Justice that took place in the provincial capital.
“It is a date to reflect, analyze, understand what has happened after that civic military coup of March 24, 1976, which generated one of the most tragic, bloody and sad pages of our history. We must be aware so that they never return these events will happen”, reflected Zamora in a ceremony that took place at the Campo Contreras School, in the city of Santiago del Estero.

The Santiago governor signed a cGreat commitment for the affectation of the building where the D2 (Information Department) worked so that it becomes the Museum and Archive of Memorydependent on the province Memory Space Institute.
The document was also signed by the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Matilde O’Mill, and the director of the Memory Institute, Luis Garay.
“It is the new generations that must consolidate democracy. The full validity of human rights and of course the happiness of the people that has to do with their freedoms and living together in a rule of law,” Zamora emphasized.
