Zamir Villaverde will be released because his safety is at risk

The Judiciary ordered last Friday the release of the businessman submitted to an effective collaboration process, at the request of the anti-corruption prosecutor Karla Zecenarro, as Peru21 learned.

Sources consulted by this newspaper indicated that Zecenarro requested yesterday, in a reserved hearing, to vary the preventive detention of the person under investigation because his security was at risk in the Ancón I prison.

The owner of the Mazavig and Vigarza companies must pay a song of S / 100,000 and comply with rules of conduct. His release would take place between next Monday or Tuesday.

Zamir Villaverde is a key character in the entire corruption plot involving the government of Pedro Castillo. The audios that he delivered to the Public Ministry have ended up rounding out the hypothesis: the adjudication of the Tarata bridge, a work valued at S / 232 million, was finalized after the payment of bribes.

In these dialogues, which date back to November of last year, the businessman is heard talking to Juan Silva, then Minister of Transport and Communications, about the amounts of money he would receive in exchange for the work granted to the Puente Tarata consortium.

It has already been established that on November 4, 2021, Villaverde delivered S / 100,000 in cash to Silva. The money would have come from one of the companies in the consortium.

Julio Rodríguez, Villaverde’s lawyer, indicated a few days ago that his client had more information to deliver but could only access it if he was released.
