The Minister President of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, Arturo Zaldívar, made a call yesterday to stop the collective tragedy
of murders of women in the country.
After the disappearance and subsequent discovery of the body of Debanhi Susana Escobar Bazaldúa, an 18-year-old girl who disappeared on April 9, 2022 in General Escobedo, Nuevo León, Zaldívar asserted that it is imperative that effective measures be taken to stop the murders and disappearances of women and girls in Mexico.
The pain for each woman and girl who has died or disappeared touches the depths of the heart of Mexico
affirmed the minister president on social networks after confirming the death of the young woman, who was found Thursday night in the cistern of a motel in the municipality of Escobedo.
It is urgent to take urgent and effective measures to stop this collective tragedy. All institutions must assume our responsibility and act accordingly
Zaldívar stated in a message that he accompanied with the label #NiUnaMás
.
Parties ask to stop gender violence
Referring to the case, PAN and PRD demanded that the state governor, Samuel García, and the federal government stop the wave of femicides and gender-based violence in the country.
The PAN Secretary for the Political Promotion of Women, Laura Esquivel, lamented the sloppiness of the investigations and asked the state administration to clarify the facts, since supposedly an investigation had already been carried out in the hotel where the body of the young woman was found, but only the Thursday found it, which is suspicious.
Women must have guarantees, security and protection with efficient public policies that generate the reduction of cases of violence, from prevention with education in schools to shelters for those who are violated by their partners, she added.
For his part, the coordinator of the PRD in the Chamber of Deputies, Luis Espinosa Cházaro, pointed out that the finding of lifeless bodies of women should not be normalized. The case of Debanhi Escobar is a painful example of the social decomposition and impunity that is suffered, he highlighted when demanding justice.
