The Chancellor of the Republic, Yván Gil, warned his Colombian counterpart, Luis Gilberto Murillo, that Venezuela will not accept new comments that could be generated from the New Granada Foreign Ministry against the country, which could have consequences.
On his Instagram account, Gil published: “We do not tolerate one more word about the Homeland of Bolívar, you will deeply regret the consequences, we have already warned you. Stop the ready-made quackery from the north now!”
Likewise, he stated that Murillo “Has turned Colombian diplomacy into microphone diplomacy, enough about Venezuela, from here we can give lessons to the world about true democracy.”
Such statements emerged after Murillo published on his X account:
“Diplomacy requires balance and mutual respect. President Gustavo Petro’s position remains the same from the beginning and has not changed, and is guided by principles, not by external threats or pressures. “We will continue to promote transparency and democratic legitimacy, always with a focus on non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries.”
It should be noted that last Tuesday, Gil also responded to Chancellor Murillo by stating in his social networks that the New Granada official acted in a pusillanimous manner when addressing the Venezuelan reality, during the bilateral meeting they held on Monday, where he assured that he proceeds “always attached to respect for the sovereignty and independence of Venezuela while we reviewed the cooperation between both countries.”
“However, before the microphones of the press, the blackmail he receives from the extreme right and the United States of America emerges, attacking from behind, with false narratives that he is not able to discuss face to face,” the chancellor wielded Venezuelan in reference to a publication by the Colombian on his X account in which he ignores Venezuelan institutions.
