The Chancellor of the Republic Yván Gil denounced that the president of Argentina, Javier Milei, has once again exhibited “his profound ignorance of international law and the basic norms that govern coexistence between nations.”
Given Milei’s recent statements, Gil pointed out through his Telegram channel that the Argentine president’s words “are not only delirious,” but constitute a direct attack on the principle of sovereignty and the Peace Zone of Latin America and the Caribbean.
“We do not know if he acts out of ignorance, inability or habit, but we are sure that he tries to hide his own internal failures,” said the chancellor.
These reactions occur after the Argentine president expressed his support for the military intervention of the United States against Venezuela.
Likewise, the Minister for Foreign Affairs added that Milei’s irresponsibility does not represent a legitimate foreign policy and described it as “simple nonsense.”
It should be remembered that after the bombings that occurred in the early hours of January 3 – which left a number of soldiers and civilians dead and injured – there was the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and First Lady Cilia Flores.
In light of these events, Venezuela has received the support of various nations that reject the attacks for violating national sovereignty, the Charter of the United Nations and international law. The allied international community demands the immediate release of the presidential couple, currently held in US territory.
