The Venezuelan government celebrated yesterday the 75 years of its diplomatic relations with Iran, a country with which, he stressed, has a “solid friendship”, in addition to strategic cooperation in sectors such as energy, science, technology, health, agriculture and industry.
Through his Telegram channel, Foreign Minister Yván Gil stressed that the alliance between the two countries “was strengthened in 2022 with the signing of the Strategic Cooperation Agreement at 20 years”, a commitment that, he said, the Government of Nicolás Maduro will continue “consolidating and expanding for the benefit of both peoples.”
“Today, our peoples come together in an eternal fraternity, forming a common anti -imperialist and anti -ionist front, in defense of their legitimate interests and sovereignty,” said the minister.
Earlier, in a statement, the Foreign Ministry stressed that the relations between the two countries have been “forged on the basis of a solid and strategic friendship, mutual respect, solidarity, the right to free determination of peoples and the shared vision of a multipolar world.”
“Venezuela and Iran have cultivated a comprehensive strategic alliance that has overcome great geopolitical challenges and has been strengthened thanks to an unwavering political will and the conviction that cooperation is essential for sovereign development,” they say.
Venezuela wanted these 75 years of links “to be the prelude to a path to definitive peace and a prosperous future for both peoples.”
