Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants was launched in 2013 to celebrate gastronomy throughout the region and provide diners around the world with local information and culinary recommendations on the best places to enjoy the gastronomic culture.

“2022 is an emblematic year for tourism at a global level, this being the year in which destinations are committed to the recovery of the sector after the limitations experienced by Covid-19, for which Yucatán decided to give it a special focus and declaring it the Year of Gastronomy”, mentioned Michelle Fridman Hirsch, secretary of the Ministry of Tourism Development of Yucatan.

The “365 flavors in Yucatan” campaign began on June 18 of this year. Being this 2022 the year of Yucatecan gastronomy, this tourist promotional campaign aims to value the exquisite gastronomic offer of Yucatan so that it is recognized, valued and enjoyed by locals and tourists, positioning Yucatan as a solid gastronomic destination at national and international level. international.

With a diversity of ingredients, authentic recipes and a gastronomic wealth so wide that you can enjoy a different culinary experience every day of the year, some flavors that have already been promoted are: Poc Chuc, Ceviche de Chivitas, Motuleños Eggs, Fish Kibis, Lomitos from Valladolid, Black Filling Ice Cream, Henequén Liquor, among others.

Yucatan is promoting gastronomy with a focus on heritage, culture, sustainability and identity conservation.
