The oil company YPF increased the price of its fuels by 4% on Monday, as the crude refining companies had agreed with the national government, and adds to what was implemented on Sunday by Raízen Argentina, licensee of the Shell brand.
In this way, YPF has new reference prices in the city of Buenos Aires when passing the liter of super gasoline at $156.80; premium gasoline $197.40; the diesel 500 $168.40, and the premium diesel $236according to the survey in the stations of the network.
While, Axion brand sources estimate that the increase will take place from 00:00 on Tuesdaywith which the three oil companies that control more than 90% of the market will have increased prices at pumps by 4%.
The cost of fuels is mainly made up of the evolution of the international price of oil, the local price of biofuels, the exchange rate and the tax component.
At the end of November, the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, announced the agreement with the oil companies so that fuels participate in the Fair Prices program with monthly increases of up to 4% from December to March of this yearor, with what he hopes to “walk a path of tranquility.”
The companies applied a first increase in December within the framework of this understanding, but in January they accepted that the scheduled increase be applied as of January 15 to avoid a greater inflationary impact at the start of the year.
