The national oil company YPF increased As of this Thursday, 4% the value of its gasoline and dieselthus adding to the increase applied on Wednesday by Shell, and complying with what was agreed with the Government within the framework of the Fair Prices program for fuels.
“YPF adjusted the price of its fuels by an average of 4%. This adjustment, which occurs within the framework of the commitments assumed that are publicly known, helps to offset the variation in the official exchange rate, the higher logistics and operating costs , and the increase in biofuel prices,” the oil company said in a statement.
With this increase, the average values in the city of Buenos Aires were $163.10 for super gasoline; $205.30 for the premium; $175.10 for diesel and $245.44 for premium diesel.
At the end of last November, the Minister of Economy, Sergio Massa, announced a agreement with the oil companies so that the fuels participate in the Fair Prices program.
“We are going to have December, January, February and March with a path of predefined increases: 4% in December; 4% in January; 4% in February and 3.8% in March, with the aim of continuing to build a path in the which all sectors contribute to significantly lower inflation, which is the main drama in Argentina,” said the minister.
The agreement was signed by the presidents of YPF, Pablo González; from PAE-Axion, Marcos Bulgheroni; and from Raizen-Shell, Teófilo Lacroze.
