The president of YPF, Pablo González, highlighted that the company closed 2022 “with an investment of US$ 4,100 million and a growth in total production of 9%the highest in the last 25 years”, in the framework of a meeting held between representatives of the Argentine hydrocarbon sector with German Chancellor Olaf Scholtzwho is visiting the country.
González affirmed that YPF’s production growth in 2022 was the highest in the last 25 years and said that “by 2023 the company’s investments would exceed 5 billion dollars that will allow us to continue with this growth agenda”.
During the meeting they discussed the potential that Argentina has as a producer of energy on a global scale from the resources it has in Vaca Muerta and the possibility of exporting it as LNGand discussed renewable energy and lithium in Argentina.
In this regard, from YPF they highlighted that “German officials, led by their chancellor, showed interest in renewable energy and lithium, The latter category in which the country presents important opportunities by being part, together with Chile and Bolivia, of the Lithium Triangle that contains 60% of the world resources of this key mineral for the energy transition”.

In addition, through YPF Luz, it operates 400 MW of renewable energy that is generated in its three wind farms located in the province of Buenos Aires (Los Teros), Chubut (Manantiales Behr) and Santa Cruz (Cañadón León).
In addition, it has its first solar energy project under construction in the province of San Juan, whose initial stage will be inaugurated this year and will add a power of 100 MW, with a final capacity of 300 MW, among other issues.
