The intensive care physician at Hospital Municipalizado Adão Pereira Nunes, Juliana Paitach said, in an interview this afternoon, that the young Juliana Leite Rangel, 26 years old, who arrived shot in the head with a rifle shot, in an action by the Federal Highway Police, on the Washington highway Luís (BR-040) “is on mechanical ventilation and receiving medication to keep his pressure stable. Despite the severity, there is a pattern of stability, as the young woman’s health did not worsen.”
The doctor explained that Juliana “has a serious but stable condition. He is on mechanical ventilation and in an induced coma. From the time she arrived until now, there has been no worsening, she has remained at a level of severity that has stabilized with medication and has not worsened. In other words, we have gravity, but in a stable pattern, until now”.
Intensivist Juliana Paitach said that the bullet that hit Juliana’s skull was removed during surgery. “Although the brain injury is a serious injury, it does not have a sign of severity that we see as intracranial hypertension. In the initial image, you see that there is no sign of severity, so we will have to monitor it, see how it progresses”, explained the doctor.
Removal
The Federal Highway Police (PRF) reported that the two men and the woman who participated in the approach to Juliana Rangel’s family car on BR-040, in Duque de Caxias “were preventively removed from all operational activities”. The two rifles and the pistol used by the agents were seized by the Federal Police, which is in charge of the investigations.
The Federal Police reported that the PRF agents’ weapons will be analyzed by criminal technical experts, who will determine which weapon the projectile that hit the victim in the head came from.
