The 7th Court of Control of Zulia decreed deprivation of liberty for Gloribel del Carmen Rivas Ferrer (25), for her alleged responsibility in the trafficking of 100 rifle ammunition, an event that occurred on January 18 in the Cucurucho sector of the Jesús Enrique Lossada municipality, of the aforementioned entity.
The information was provided by the Public Ministry through a statement specifying that on the aforementioned day officials of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), who were carrying out patrol work in the area, sighted the woman currently deprived of liberty, who upon noticing the presence of the military commission assumed a nervous attitude.
Given the situation, the military officers told him to stop for a body inspection, in which they found a total of 100 7.62 caliber ammunition and a portable radio hidden inside a koala bag.
Consequently, Rivas Ferrer was immediately arrested and placed under the command of the Public Ministry, the statement states.
Once captured, the woman was charged with the crime of arms and ammunition trafficking and association. This accusation was made during a presentation hearing in which representatives of the 48th Prosecutor’s Office of that jurisdiction took the floor.
Once the elements of conviction presented by the prosecutor’s representation had been evaluated, the 7th Court of Control of Zulia issued the measure of deprivation of liberty against the young woman, who is being held at the headquarters of the GNB of the state of Zulia.
