Young people would benefit from “Opportunity 14-24”

Espaillat.- The Social Policy Cabinet, coordinated by Tony Peña, launched this Friday another four centers of the “Opportunity 14-24” program in the municipalities of Gaspar Hernández, Jamao al Norte, Juan López and San Víctor in the Espaillat province.

With these new technical-professional training centers, the institution reached 95 branches of the initiative that operates throughout the country.

With these four new centers, 211 young people from that province will directly benefit from technical-professional and financial training for undertakings in different areas, with the full participation of more than 20 institutions that participate together with the Social Policy Cabinet with the aim of young people in conditions of social vulnerability are integrated into the labor market.

Currently, there are more than 10,000 young people who benefit from the technical-professional careers that are taught in the 95 training centers of the “Opportunity 14-24” program and almost 400 graduates of the program.

The coordinator of the Social Policy Cabinet, Tony Peña, explained to the young people the benefits that this program brings, in addition to being an opportunity for improvement.

“This program was created to give young people an opportunity to insert themselves, it is a unique program since it offers a series of benefits so that they can insert themselves into society and obtain a decent job opportunity,” he added.

The director of the “Opportunity 14-24” program, Alex Mordán, urged young people to take advantage of the time preparing themselves and to see this opportunity as a door to success.

“I ask you to wear that T-shirt with pride, as you are the first promotion of this province, I want to tell you that time passes as it wishes and I hope that you take advantage of it by preparing yourself so that you have a better future” expressed Mordán.

The centers that were opened will work in the Community Technological Centers (CTC) of Gaspar Hernández, Jamao al Norte, San Víctor and Juan López, in which they will be given technical training in hairdressing, computer science, electricity, balloons, sales, hotel reception, accounting English, among others.
