This is corroborated by a study titled ‘Young Talent. Work motivations of Millenials and Generation Z’ from EAE Business School, according to which, new generations of professionals increasingly value a balance between career and personal life, and consider that work is not the center of their lives.

As explained by its researchers, the report is an x-ray of the professional perceptions and opinions of young Colombians between 18 and 30 years old, who were approached with several questions to know their perception regarding the future and what they hope to obtain from their jobs. .
“The study reveals that salary and a good work environment are two of the most important factors when considering a job. While men give more importance to a good work environment (60%), women put salary first (66%). In contrast, the opportunity to reconcile, which in other countries It is of great relevance, in Colombia it only obtained 2.8% relevance for young people,” they reported.
Change in trends
On the other hand, the EAE Business School reported that Colombia has preferences that differentiate it from other countries, since proximity to the workplace, which is one of the most important factors for work comfort, is not of great importance for Colombians, since only 25.6% value living nearby.

Among the data that draws attention in this report is that despite the pragmatism and desire to focus on their personal time, there is no great concern about accumulating money to retire soon and while in other countries there is a priority on earning to save , invest and retire soon, only 14% of Colombian respondents have it in their mind to accelerate the pace for an early retirement.
