In the last few hours, through a statement on their Twitter social network, young members of the Comunes Party (@JovenesdelComun) denounced who received threats from the ‘Águilas Negras’ narco-paramilitary group, and demanded guarantees for the full development of their political activity.
In the letter, the political party assures that the enemies of peace continue to act under the legitimacy that the Government has given them every time he overlooks threats to progressive and opposition currents.

”Today, April 16, a pamphlet from the so-called ‘Águilas Negras – Bloque Capital DC’ has been circulated through social networks in which they threaten the lives of human rights defenders, social leaders, progressive forces and specifically against our party, its leadership, and militants of the youth process that has been brewing for some time,” indicates a section of the document.
The political movement highlighted that this is not the first time that the party and its leadership have been targets of this type of threat, but on this occasion he receives with great concern these accusations that threaten the life and safety of young people.

”Sadly, over the years, we have buried fellow signatories who gave their word, and whom this government betrayed with its efforts to tear peace to shreds under the 1,000 obstacles to the implementation of what was agreed in 2016. No We want to lose more human lives at the expense of a government that puts the lives of many at risk through stigmatizing comments that only reinforce the actions of this type of paramilitary structures.”
Finally, the young people from the Comunes party emphatically rejected said harassment and demanded that the Government from President Iván Duque, to the High Council for Stabilization in charge of José Emilio Archila and to the Minister of the Interior Daniel Palacios, guarantees for the full development of the political activity of his militancy.

At the same time, they urged human rights organizations, opposition forces and the international community “to continue shielding the Peace Agreement in order to achieve a stable and lasting peace”.
