The My First Job program began with 1,058 young people. Marlon del Cid, director of employment at the Ministry of Labor, indicated that more than 80 companies in the country are participating and that this week the young people will be trained to be placed in companies.
He explained that these are 3-month internships where the Ministry of Labor will pay 300 dollars and the company will pay the difference from the minimum wage. The company will be able to request its certificate of fiscal incentive of 1,240 for each young person who achieves a job placement.
He said that young people from all 10 provinces are participating in this program and will begin working in various companies next week.
