Young people continue to face major challenges in education, health, safety and employmentsince 262,409 are unemployed, of which 68% are women.
The issue was analyzed in connection with yesterday’s national youth dayduring the panel “Opportunities and socioeconomic challenges of adolescents and youth in the Dominican Republic” organized by World Vision.
The objective of the conversation was to share experiences and present the authentic situation experienced by the youngest in the country through the implementation of the “A step in our favor” campaign.

“We cannot see socioeconomic problems if we see education, emotional stability, economic development and employability separately, we have to start integrating our approaches into public actions and policies that allow the country to lower the negative figures, but above all that allow the young people of the Dominican Republic to have a true and sustainable development”, expressed homeland rodrigueznational coordinator of Participation and Leadership of World Vision.
The event also warned that these are highly stressful historical times, greatly influenced by social networks, with a constant bombardment of “realities” and a difficult to emulate rhythm of life, which deteriorates mental health.
