The Youth Building the Future program will extend beyond the six-year term and will continue to be applied in the next federal administration, said the head of the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS), Marath Bolaños.
When presenting a brief report on the scope of this project – which was launched during the government of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador – the official highlighted that in this six-year term, youth have been supported with this program by allocating a unprecedented social investment
of almost 129 billion pesos.
The figure, he said during the morning presidential conference, contrasts with the 6.7 billion pesos that were spent on the sector in 30 years of neoliberal regimes.
He pointed out that in its first six years of application, this program has benefited nearly 3 million young people, who are sent to work centers for training for 12 months and receive monthly support equivalent to a minimum wage.

Bolaños, who was confirmed to continue in office in the next federal government by the virtual president-elect, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, stressed that the last beneficiaries of the program joined last January for two reasons: first, to respect the ban due to the electoral process in June of this year and so that they receive their last payment in December 2024 and thus not compromise the resources of the 2025 budget.
He pointed out that in the package of constitutional reform initiatives sent to Congress on February 5 by President López Obrador, a modification to article 123 of the Magna Carta is proposed. to ensure the right of young people to access work and ensure that this program is maintained for posterity
