LAS AMERICAS AIRPORT. -The Specialized Airport Security Corps (CESAC) reported that the young man with apparent mental disorders who entered and violated the restricted area of the Las Américas International Airport, José Francisco Peña Gómez, this Thursday morning, had no intention of boarding any plane .
According to the CESAC report, the young man, who has not been identified because he was not carrying any personal documents, at the time of his arrest, confessed during the interrogations to which he was subjected that he had no intention of boarding any aircraft.
The agency added that at approximately 08:30 in the morning, the CESAC Security inspector, who was on duty at the airport cargo platform, observed an intruder who penetrated the interior limits of the restricted perimeter.
After his arrest, they indicated that he was taken to the police detachment of that airport terminal.
“I never had the intention of getting on any plane, but only to know the airport and see the planes fly away,” said the young man after his arrest.
After the investigation process by the airport security authorities, the young man was handed over to the person in charge of the Tourist Police at the terminal to be subjected to legal action, complying with due process.
