MADRID, Spain.- On the night of this December 1, a young resident of the province of Cienfuegos, identified as Liván, climbed an ETECSA telecommunications tower to demonstrate against the constant blackouts. The event occurred in the Cruces municipality.
From the tower he protested “because as a result of the situation the country’s food spoiled after 14 hours of blackout”, made it known through the social network Facebook the user Edmundo Dantés Junior, who also shared photos and videos of the event.
According to the information, Liván was shouting slogans and threatening the officials of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT) with jumping off the tower.
“A man climbed on top of the ETECSA tower shouting ‘Down with Communism’ and asking for the electricity to return. The police have surrounded the entire park as the onlookers join in the cries of Freedom. Sources say that it is about Liván `el Burro´ or a man from the family of Los Pollitos. Liván was taken down from the tower by police officers who arrested him and took him away in a patrol car while he was applauded by those present. So far the police unit to which he was transferred is unknown.
