The Department for Social Prosperity announced that this week the sixth payment cycle of the ‘Young Income’ program began, with which it hopes to reach 234,000 students throughout the country and which can be claimed until the end of this monththrough the different channels enabled by the entity.
The director of the DPS, Gustavo Bolívar, reiterated to the program participants that “This government has been advancing various State policies to achieve mechanisms that strengthen access and permanence in higher education for the youngest people. “Support aimed at supporting young students is one of those mechanisms to advance social mobility.”

In the details provided by the entity for this occasion, Social Prosperity indicated that the entity will invest $98,078 in this cycle, which will be distributed among 234,820 program participants who are qualified to receive the resources.
“For 21,612 Sena students, with verification of the August-September 2024 period: the investment for this delivery will be $8,193 million. Likewise, they will go to 212,813 students from higher education institutions (IES), for permanence and excellence 2024-1 and enrollment 2024-2; where the investment will be $88,989 million,” they added.
In that order of ideas, they explained that the rest of the investment ($896 million) corresponds to the lifting of suspensions for reasons not attributable to the young people and non-payments from previous cycles for 395 participants.
“It is important that participants pay attention to the official Social Prosperity media. and to the Daviplata website, to receive payment information,” said Gustavo Bolívar, director of the DPS.
It should be noted that Renta Joven payments are handled by Daviplata, which is Davivienda’s electronic wallet. Participants who do not have a bank account to receive payment have the possibility of opening it autonomously, free of charge and permanently with the operator.

“The Renta Joven program is the evolution of Jóvenes en Acción and arises with the aim of contributing to the social and economic inclusion of youth and promoting the consolidation of life trajectories based on dignity and the guarantee of rights,” explained the DPS.
This entity also maintained that this initiative seeks to “promote access, permanence and graduation from higher education and complementary training through the delivery of conditional monetary transfers and manages new opportunities for social mobility through employment, entrepreneurship and education.” postgraduate.”
COP16 Volunteering
In announcing the beginning of the sixth payment cycle, the Ministry of the Environment, the Universidad Surcolombiana and Sodimac reported that, within the framework of COP16, 1,942 young people from the program participated in the training and voluntary action processes between August 23 and November 1.
“These young people will receive the Voluntary Impulse monetary transfer, also in this sixth cycle. For this, Social Prosperity allocated $544,350 million. The training process was developed by Social Prosperity, with the support or accompaniment of other allies, such as HEIs or municipalities,” they highlighted.
These trainings provided elements that contributed to strengthening the role of the volunteer, the capabilities of young people and their contribution in terms of social participation and co-responsibility towards their environments and communities. Certificates of participation in these activities volunteering will be sent to the emails of each of the participants.
