Young Income 2024: until what day in October can you register to be a beneficiary?

On Friday, October 25, the fifth cycle of Young Income incentives will beginhe program that drives the Government of Colombia aimed at supporting young people’s access to decent housing and at the same time promoting permanence and graduation from higher education and complementary training.

When does the payment cycle begin?

He Department for Social Prosperityin charge of this initiative, indicated that starting Friday the transfer will be available through DaviPlata or authorized transfer points, which is why it recommends beneficiaries to pay attention to the official information channels.

This program seeks to support young students who are in a vulnerable condition, providing them with a subsidy that covers part of the cost of renting a home with the aim of improving their capabilities and opportunities for social mobility.

What are the Young Income payments like?

To this end, Youth Income involves the periodic and direct delivery of conditional Monetary Transfers to facilitate access, permanence and graduation of the population young people linked to higher education and complementary training in the Higher Normal Schools.

The initiative also contemplates a process of comprehensive support, both individual and community, focused on strengthening personal, social, academic and productive capabilities, with the aim of promoting social mobility and a decent life path.

Who can receive this benefit?

To be a participant in Young Income programthe following requirements must be met:

• Be between 14 and 28 years old.

• Have a record in the official secondary education enrollment systems as a vocational high school graduate.

• Be included in one of the following targeting bases:

1) Be registered in Sisbén with a classification as a population group in situations of extreme poverty, poverty and vulnerability.

2) Be registered in the census lists of the indigenous population, administered by the Ministry of the Interior.

3) Be registered in the census lists of the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare of the population with measures to restore rights and who are pursuing higher education or complementary training under the protection of this entity.

• Be enrolled in a complementary training process or higher education at the technical, technological or university levels (undergraduate) in face-to-face, traditional distance, or virtual mode.
