Havana Cuba. – Meteorologist Carlos Manuel González Ramírez, a resident of the Santa Cruz del Norte municipality, Mayabeque province, died this Monday, according to a Facebook post of the Havana Channel.
The young man served as president of the Cuban Meteorological Society and vice president of the Cuban Magazine of Meteorology. He was the presenter of the meteorological segment on Telemayabeque, a function that, at the time of his death, he was doing on Canal Habana.
As reported, the cause of death was heart failure. The news has caused great shock among his colleagues, who have conveyed condolences and appreciation to family and friends.
According to journalist Yisney Izquierdo, from the official newspaper Mayabeque, “Carlitos, as he was known, stood out for his scientific rigor in the field that he worked as a meteorologist, researcher and professor.”
Yoel Alejandro Cala, a graduate of the Instituto Superior de Tecnologías y Ciencias Aplicadas (InSTEC), wrote a brief and heartfelt tribute to the young man, in which he highlights his talent and kindness:
“I remember that on one occasion I was studying and he [Carlos Manuel] was close to me. With great regret I decided to ask him a question. She answered me with her usual kindness. There we were talking for a long time (…). He told me about his early interest in Meteorology, about how he set up his own weather station, about his Jaruco town. One of the most pleasant conversations I will ever remember.”
The publication of the Havana Channel was commented by many users who made reference to the professionalism of the meteorologist, his skills as a communicator and the promising future that lay ahead.

Others referred to the number of young people suffering from cardiovascular pathologies.
“What a pity, by God, but the number of young people with heart problems is alarming. God help us,” said netizen Osvaldo Ya.
The user Norma García wondered, alarmed: “What is happening in Cuba, people so young with heart attacks. May God take them into his bosom.”
The same concern was expressed by María Broche: “My condolences. There is something that worries me about the health of young Cubans, it is that there are already more than one (…) who have died of a heart attack (…). Something is happening, please ask the Ministry of Public Health to look for the causes”.
