You are not alone… the 4T shows its muscle

At a slow pace, at the pace that the crowd that saturated the streets allowed, a group of older adults advanced to try to reach the Zócalo, once again, with a blanket that attested to their Obrero devotion: “history is not an accident, it is a decision.”
Captured in a photograph, the smiling figures of Andrés Manuel López Obrador raising his hand to Claudia Sheinbaum complemented the message of that banner that already reflected the passage of time. One of the many ways that were expressed to remember seven years of the triumph of Andrés Manuel López Obrador and the arrival of the Fourth Transformation.
“It’s from when Claudia won!”, summarized Adriana Hernández, a university professor and traditional worker, who she recognized, almost modestly, as a sin that she will never be able to redeem: “you will believe me, I have only missed one march… that of Andrés Manuel’s violation.”
The atmosphere moved her to a burst of nostalgia for those times when they were opposition and fought against the power that oppressed them then. Now he arrived from Morelos to celebrate seven years of transformation.
The streets of the center of the country’s capital were bustling with people, many convinced that these are moments to shore up the movement after several weeks of political turbulence that was felt in the National Palace and motivated them to intensify the discourse of unity and launch harsh proclamations against the opposition.
A fiery response to the stalking of the extreme right, which Sheinbaum reported in his speech, denouncing a million-dollar media campaign in front of thousands of supporters. The rally also served to demonstrate internal reconciliation, in the logic that in politics form is substance.
For this reason, the leaders of the 4T, so defenestrated among a good part of the Morenista base, returned to the presidential affections: Ricardo Monreal, leader of the deputies, and Adán Augusto López, head of the movement’s senators. They were no longer separated behind the bars that in previous concentrations divided the spaces on the Zócalo plate to place them with the masses. This time they returned to the privileged spaces in the Morenoist mobilizations.
In correspondence, Sheinbaum took the opportunity to leave implicit messages about overcoming misunderstandings. In the midst of the excitement of the masses in this new concentration, the expressions of affection to hug Monreal and Adán Augusto López caught our attention.
Legacy of the old regime
Inevitably, from the podium where she gave her speech, Sheinbaum could see the gigantic banner: “President, you are not alone.” But equally, it was inevitable to observe the other two large banners that hung from the buildings in front of the National Palace, uncomfortable inheritances from the old regime. A large blanket that only said “CROC” (Revolutionary Confederation of Workers and Peasants), reminiscent of the most rancid PRI corporatism.
Just like the huge banner of the oil union: “the STPRM united with the people in support of our President for the transformation of our country.” In parallel, hundreds of union members in the first rows of the rally, with their leader Ricardo Aldana leading their support. Yes, the same protagonist of that dark and desperate plot of the Pemexgatewhen the institutionalized revolution crackled.
And along with them, the massive presence of the National Union of Education Workers, uniformed – as in those neoliberal times when they celebrated the defenestrated educational reform –, now fervently adhering to the four-theist cause. And its leader, Alfonso Cepeda, who shamelessly stated that the 45 thousand teachers they brought were summoned at 3 in the morning.
A presence that contrasted with the historical vindication of the struggles of the left that Sheinbaum made in his speech against neoliberalism, against the dark interests that have been present in recent times.
