Elita Farro, partner of businessman Nilo Burga, narrated details of the last time she saw her husband alive, who was being investigated for the scandal of Qali Warma.
Farro’s words are part of the statements he gave before the representative of the Public Ministry in the proceedings on December 26, hours after Burga was found dead in a hotel in Magdalena, and to which América Televisión had access.
Farro assured that the last time she saw her husband was at 2:00 pm the day before his death. That day, he said, he left his house to meet with his lawyer, to whom he would deliver some writings.
“He left the house to meet with his lawyer, since he wanted to give him some writings that that same day, in the morning, I helped him clean up, related to the problems he has been having with the Prosecutor’s Office for his company. Frigoinca“, he indicated to the Public Ministry.
Likewise, he pointed out that Burga told him that he was writing a letter to give to his lawyer and deliver it to the Prosecutor’s Office for the case of his company Frigoinca.
“I sit down with him and he begins to tell me that he was writing a letter so that he could give it to his lawyer and in turn turn it over to the prosecutor’s office for the case of his company Frigoinca. He wanted the draft that he had made to be passed clean. because he couldn’t write anymore. Nilo Burga’s partner narrated the moment they found out about the businessman’s tragic death.
“Nilo had left his cell phone and I see that his son Michel was calling and I answered the phone and Michel called me my dad and I told him that he had forgotten his phone and he cut off the call. After that he called me on my cell phone the lady at the hotel who was crying. Mr. Nilo told me, come on, come on, he killed himself. Then Martín Villalón called me, who told me the same thing about Nilo,” he indicated.
According to Farro, the owner of Frigoinca “went almost often” to the hotel where he was found dead.
“There he met with his friends for work matters. Other times for the sauna, I also want to add that when we went shopping in Magdalena, we kept the car in the hotel garage, since they knew Nilo well and that’s why They allowed us to park the car there,” he emphasized.
Likewise, he assured that Burga received a death threat through a message.
“Once he showed me a message that he had received, which said, you are next and you are not going to escape, which I imagine must be on his phone,” he said.
On the other hand, when asked if the businessman had had depression or had attempted suicide, she noted that “there were times when he was depressed.”
“Even once his psychiatrist wrote to me and told me not to leave him alone, to take care of him, to give him his medications and not to leave him alone because he could harm himself and harm himself. That, due to his health situation, he had previously tried to commit suicide and, in October, the doctor told me to take care of him because he tends to hurt himself,” he said.
