Yon Goicoechea, leader of Voluntad Popular, accused an opposition group of wanting to dissolve the 2015 National Assembly in exchange for personal favors. He warned that the country stands to lose a lot if this happens.
The leader of Voluntad Popular Yon Goicoechea alerted this Tuesday, May 24, that there is an alleged proposal from an opposition group that would be seeking to annul the National Assembly (AN) 2015 and hand over the assets abroad, which that instance controls, to the administration of Nicolás Maduro in exchange for personal favors such as authorizations or pardons,
Goicoechea, through a thread in Twitter, analyzed the possible consequences that the elimination of this political forum would bring to the country. In the first place, the image of the country is further weakened in the face of the judicial complaints it faces abroad and Maduro would also be allowed access to the gold that is deposited in the Bank of England.
In the same way, the doors are opened to the Venezuelan Executive to take control of Citgo and at the same time the loss of it at the hands of creditors, at the same time that it would be allowed to demand the money that is in the accounts of the mixed companies.

Miraflores would take control of the assets of the embassy and consulates in the US; positions in the IDB and other similar organizations and assets of the Bandes that are in Uruguay, Portugal and other nations. In addition, he warns that it would be a “clear political victory” over the Venezuelan opposition.
There is a proposal from an “opposition” group to annul the AN 2015 and hand over the assets to Maduro, in exchange for personal negotiations (qualifications and pardons, etc.). In my opinion, this is a very serious mistake, which jeopardizes the elections. (open thread)

3. Maduro’s control over CITGO and the consequent loss of the company in the hands of creditors.
4. Maduro’s position of strength to claim the use of billions of dollars, dammed up in “scrow accounts” of the mixed companies.

political victory over the opposition and their allies in the US, UK, Canada and other countries. These are just a few consequences. There is more.
Do NOT count on me to dismantle the AN and give everything to Maduro in exchange for ZERO democratic progress for Venezuela.

Yon Goicoechea’s position is similar to that used on other occasions by the former president of the National Assembly Juan Guaidó, who in an interview with the newspaper Time He acknowledged that the decrease in the interim was a “terrible mistake” because it took away diplomatic space abroad.
He also expressed that it was difficult for him to maintain governability and he continues to bet on holding primaries, since he considers that it is a sign of the reunification of the opposition. However, he believes that it should be beyond the electoral.
“The winner of the primaries cannot see the second or third party as defeated, because these candidates are fair and will help us unify the population (…) Maduro is weak, he has no electoral support, even from the low and medium rank military They hate it because they are suffering the same as the rest of the Venezuelan population,” Guaidó explained.
For his part, the leader of Primero Justicia Juan Carlos Caldera He criticized the analysis made by Goicoechea and considers that they repeat the “lies” of those in power to further divide the opposition.
Excuse the French but what is screwed is to see spokesmen (widowers) of the deceased interim government echo the lies that the spokesmen of the regime say. It seems that their main agenda is to seek to divide. Venezuela does not need united to get out of this tragedy.
