The Colombian justice system decided to sentence the stylist to 55 years in prison for the events that occurred on November 21, 2021, which caused consternation in Colombia. However, Jhonier Leal assures that he is innocent and awaits the second instance ruling of the Superior Court of Bogotá to decide his future in the case.

Precisely, Dúbier Hernández Taváres, brother of Marleny Hernández, mother of Jhonier and Mauricio Leal, gave an interview with the media Focus Noticias, in which he revealed details of the relationship between his nephews and his sister, and also about the strange behavior that he noticed in Jhonier Leal on the day of the wake and funeral of the renowned stylist.
“I was in front of him on the day of the wake, he had a cut on his hand, a plaster,” was the first thing that Jhonier Leal’s relative noticed, that day in November 2021.
And he added: «I saw him very cold, not like when a loved one dies and it happens that way. I said to myself, why isn’t this guy crying? “I saw him very calm.”
«At the funeral the same thing happened to me, his wife cried more with us than he, who was his own son… I didn’t see a single tear. “That’s where doubts come in,” added the relative of the man convicted by justice.
Jhonier Leal’s relative recalled what the stylist would have said when they asked him about the wound on his hand: “He said that when he left his house he had cut himself on a wall, then he said that he had cut himself with a pair of scissors.”
“If he did it, may God forgive him,” he concluded.
