The National Council of the Magistracy (CNM) chose this Friday to unanimity to Yeni Berenice Reynoso as the new Attorney General of the Republic replacing Miriam Germán Brito.
Reynoso was proposed by President Luis Abinader and approved by the members of the CNM at a meeting held at the National Palace.
Who is Yeni Berenice
Reynoso is a Dominican lawyer and fiscal with an outstanding career in the judicial field. He was born in the city of Santiago de los Caballeros and studied law at the Technological University of Santiago (UTESA). Subsequently, he made specializations in criminal litigation, criminal procedural law and constitutional law.
He began his career in the Public Ministry as a prosecutor in Santiago, where he worked in various cases of relevance. In 2011, she was appointed as the National District Prosecutor, becoming the youngest person to assume this position. During his management, he was in charge of high -profile judicial research and processes.
Currently, he serves as an attached attitude of the Attorney General’s Office, focusing on corruption cases and financial crimes. His work has been marked by the conduct of judicial processes of national impact and the implementation of strategies in the fight against crime.
Throughout his career, he has participated in various initiatives for the strengthening of the Dominican judicial system, maintaining an active presence in forums and debate spaces on justice and criminal law in the country.
