Yellow alert for rains and storms for the northwest of the country

The Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology (Inumet) issued a yellow alert for strong storms and heavy rains for the northwest of the country that is valid until 11:00 a.m.

“An atmospheric disturbance associated with a humid and unstable air mass affects the country, generating storms, some of which are occasionally strong,” says the agency, adding that in the affected areas “intense rains can be recorded in short periods, occasional hail, intense activity electricity and strong gusts of wind.

The agency will continue to monitor the situation and will report any changes.

Paysandu: Beisso, Casa Blanca, Cerro Chato, Chacras de Paysandú, Chapicuy, Colonia Nuevo Paysandú, Constancia, Esperanza, Gallinal, Guayabos, Guichón, Lorenzo Geyres, Merinos, Orgoroso, Paysandú, Piedras Coloradas, Porvenir, Quebracho, San Félix and Termas de Guaviyu.

Black river: the whole department.

Rivera: Lagos del Norte, Masoller, Paso Ataques, Rivera and Tranqueras.

Jump: the whole department
