A yellow alert for heavy snowfall was issued for areas of seven provinces, in some of which there will also be strong winds, reported the National Weather Service.
The alert will apply to the provinces of Jujuy, Salta, Catamarca, La Rioja, San Juan, Córdoba and San Luis.
In La Rioja, the area affected by snowfall will be the Cordillera, while in San Juan the snowfall will fall in the area of the Cordillera de Iglesia and Calingasta.
It was also indicated that in Córdoba, the mountainous areas of Cruz del Eje Minas, Pocho, San Alberto and San Javier will be affected by snowfalls that can reach between 4 and 8 cm in height.

While in San Luis, the lower areas of Chacabuco, Junín, Libertador General San Martín and the mountain areas of Ayacucho, Belgrano, Coronel Pringles, Juan Martín de Pueyrredón and Libertador General San Martín will be affected by snowfall.
Accumulated snow values between 30 and 50 centimeters high are expected in that province, while in the mountainous and lowland areas values of 4 and 8 cm high are expected.
There is also a yellow alert for “strong winds” in Jujuy in the Cochinoca, Rinconada, Santa Catalina, Susques and Puna de Susques mountain ranges.
In Salta, winds are expected from the west sector with speeds between 65 and 80 km/h, with gusts that could exceed 90 km/h in the Cachi, Poma, Los Andes and Molinos punas.
In Catamarca there will be “intense winds” in the punas of Tinogasta, Antofagasta de la Sierra, Belén, Cafayate, San Carlos, Santa María and Tafí del Valle.
